💙 Celebrating Incredible Growth at the Meadow! 🐺

We are thrilled to share some exciting news following the recent release of school testing data by the State of North Carolina. Wolf Meadow exceeded growth this past school year!
Our school performance grade improved by two letter grades, moving from an F to a C! This tremendous growth is a reflection of the hard work, determination, and commitment of our students and staff.

But the celebration doesn’t stop there! Wolf Meadow also ranked #10 in the state for elementary growth and an incredible #1 in the state for math growth! 🎉

We could not be prouder of our Wolves! These accomplishments belong to our entire school community, especially the students who worked hard each day and the dedicated staff members who continued to believe in them, challenge them, and help them grow.

We are so excited about the progress happening at the Meadow, and we know this is only the beginning. We look forward to continuing this momentum and watching our Wolves grow even more this school year!

Way to go, Wolves! One Pack, One Purpose! 💚💛🐺

🍕 Curriculum Night is This Thursday!

We are excited to welcome our Wolf Meadow families to Curriculum Night this Thursday, September 10th, from 5:30–7:00 PM!
Curriculum Night is a great opportunity to come together and learn more about what your student will be learning throughout the school year. Families will have the chance to connect with teachers, ask questions, and learn more about ways to stay involved and informed—including getting help with ParentSquare so you don’t miss important school and classroom updates.

And of course, learning is always better with pizza! 🍕 We’ll be serving pizza for our families to enjoy while you’re here.

We hope you’ll join us for a great evening of information, connection, and a delicious pizza dinner. We can’t wait to see our Wolf Meadow families at the Meadow! 💚💛🐺

💚 Celebrating Teamwork at the Meadow! 💛

We are so proud of our students who were nominated for demonstrating our P2 Trait of the Month for August: Teamwork! These Wolves showed what it means to work well with others, lend a helping hand, and be a positive and contributing member of their classroom and school community.

Thank you for showing us that when we work together, we can accomplish great things! Way to go, Wolves! 🐺💚💛

Attendance Awareness Month

September is Attendance Awareness Month and Wolf Meadow plans to kick this event off for the entire year to promote great attendance for all of our students!

Did you know that in elementary school just missing 10% of the school year makes learning to read more difficult and by the 6th grade if a student has a history of attendance concerns it becomes one of the 3 main signs of potential drop out for a student in later grades.

Wolf Meadow wants to see our students here EVERYDAY and to help parents with any obstacles that prevent that from happening.  We certainly understand children get sick and need to be home and know these absences will be excused, but our school is going to work extra hard this year to get our attendance soaring higher than ever.

CCS has an attendance policy and it is linked below.  Please read over this and make sure you stay in contact with your child’s teacher when your student needs to be absent.  We also offer an attendance portal link for you to submit attendance absences directly from your phone or device.

CCS attendance policy: Attendance
Attendance Portal: Absence Excuse Form

To get our kids excited about being here at school we are going to be holding classroom competitions and other rewards to help promote great attendance, please help us along with this!

If you have any questions about attendance, or family needs with this please reach out to your child’s teacher, our counselors or school social worker.  We all want to help our students be here everyday!

Open-Mindedness

Next week, our school will focus on the character strength of Open-Mindedness. This means being willing to consider new ideas and try new things. It involves looking at situations from all sides and not jumping to conclusions.
Open-mindedness is about seeking out and fairly weighing evidence, even if it goes against our own opinions or goals. Open-minded people listen to different viewpoints, including those that are less popular. They are often good listeners and provide balanced advice, which makes them great friends and confidants. This strength helps individuals form meaningful and lasting relationships.
To practice and encourage the character strength of open-mindedness at home, please visit The Positivity Project’s mobile-friendly P2 for Families (available in English and Spanish), where you will watch a video together and discuss a quote and three questions. Below are links to this week’s P2 for Families lessons. Click on the grade level that best meets your child’s needs.
