Benchmark Time

Our 3rd–5th grade students will begin their 2nd quarter benchmark assessments this week.

Students will take the ELA benchmark on Wednesday, December 3rd, the Math benchmark on Tuesday, December 9th, and 5th grade will take their Science benchmark on Wednesday, December 10th.

Please remind your students to take these assessments seriously. They have learned so much over the past few months, and this is a wonderful opportunity for them to show what they know and shine!

A few simple tips to help students do their best:
  • Get a good night’s sleep the night before each test.
  • Eat a healthy breakfast to start the day with energy.
  • Arrive at school on time and ready to begin.
  • Encourage a positive mindset—they’ve worked hard and are prepared!

Thank you for your support as we help our Wolves finish the quarter strong!

Congratulations!

Our 4th and 5th grade students competed in a classroom spelling bee recently!

The students pictures above all placed as their classroom winner or runner up. We are so proud of each one of these fantastic spellers!

They will compete in our school wide spelling bee on December 12th to see who will represent Wolf Meadow at the Cabarrus County Spelling Bee.

Positivity Project

Kindness

This week, our school community will focus on the character strength of Kindness. Kindness means being generous to others, never being too busy to help out, and you enjoy doing good deeds for other people.

Kindness is based on the belief that everyone deserves care, attention, and compassion. Kind people think about others' needs and feelings and take action to help. They are selfless, helping others because it's the right thing to do, not for any personal gain.

People who are kind have a strong sense of duty to care for others. Their acts of kindness inspire more kindness in return.

To practice and encourage the character strength of kindness at home, please visit The Positivity Project’s mobile-friendly P2 for Families (available in English and Spanish), where you will watch a video together and discuss a quote and three questions. Below are links to this week’s P2 for Families lessons. Click on the grade level that best meets your child’s needs.

Notes from the PTO

Snowball Express Holiday Gift Shop is here!

The holidays are just around the corner, and our PTO is excited to bring back the Snowball Express Holiday Gift Shop on December 1st! This special experience gives students the opportunity to pick out their own high-quality gifts for family and friends. The shop will be set up right here at school and run by our wonderful parent volunteers.

Students will be able to choose from a wide variety of gifts at different price points. Volunteers will be on hand to help them select meaningful items for their loved ones in a safe, supportive environment.

Each child will bring home a budget envelope that allows families to plan together—deciding who to shop for and how much to spend. The Snowball Express helps students practice budgeting skills, make thoughtful choices, and experience the joy of giving during the holiday season!
