iReady Diagnostic Growth

We are incredibly proud of our third grade students for their outstanding performance on the most recent i-Ready diagnostic assessments. As a grade level, third grade demonstrated the highest growth in the entire school from the Beginning of the Year to the Middle of the Year diagnostic.

Several students showed exceptional progress, earning 40 points or more of growth, which reflects their hard work, perseverance, and commitment to learning. We were thrilled to celebrate these students and recognize their accomplishments.

We are also proud to share that all grade levels showed tremendous growth during this assessment window. This success is a direct result of the hard work, dedication, and commitment shown by both our students and teachers each day. We are so proud of our Wolf Meadow community!

P2 Club Food Drive

Our 4th and 5th grade P2 Club students, led by SEL teacher Mrs. Burd, are leading a nonperishable food drive throughout the month of February as their service project.

Students are collecting items such as canned vegetables and fruits, peanut butter, macaroni and cheese, and cereal. All donations will be given to the 1Can organization to help stock Blessing Boxes across Cabarrus County, including the box located here at Wolf Meadow.

Donations may be sent in with students and will be collected daily, or families may drop items off in the 1Can bin located in the front foyer.

Businesses interested in partnering with our P2 Club may contact Mrs. Burd at 704-260-6390 or via email

February iReady Reading Challenge

During the month of February, students will participate in a school-wide i-Ready Reading Challenge to encourage strong reading habits and celebrate academic growth.

For every 40 i-Ready Reading lessons passed with an 80% or higher, a conversation heart will be added to each grade level’s candy jar. As jars fill, students will earn fun incentives along the way, including a No Shoes Pass, 30 minutes of technology time or a game day, and a final reward of lollipops.

Progress will be shared weekly on WME News and displayed on bulletin boards throughout the school. We appreciate your support in encouraging your child to do their best in i-Ready Reading!

Positivity Project

Love

This week, our school community will focus on the character strength of Love. Love means you value close relationships with others and being close to people.

Love is shown through our thoughts, feelings, and actions toward those we care about. When we love someone, we comfort them, make them feel safe, support them during tough times, and often put their needs before our own. When someone loves us, we feel safe and secure and can be ourselves around them. We miss them when they are not around.

Love is important for our community and society. We all depend on each other for happiness and well-being. Love creates positive feelings, helping to reduce loneliness, anxiety, and depression. Without love, we can't form strong bonds with our families, friends, or communities. A world without love would be a lonely and unsafe place.

To practice and encourage the character strength of love at home, please visit The Positivity Project’s mobile-friendly P2 for Families (available in English and Spanish), where you will watch a video together and discuss a quote and three questions. Below are links to this week’s P2 for Families lessons. Click on the grade level that best meets your child’s needs.
