Welcome to Wolf Meadow Student Services webpage!  Our team, also known as Specialized Instructional Support Personnel (SISP), works with school staff, families, and community partners to ensure student success. Direct services provided by our professional team include the following; prevention, intervention, transition, follow-up services for students and families, and more. Our SISP team is consists of the school social worker, Debbie Hoerner, the school psychologist, and the school counselors, Shannon Coleman and Adrianne Noonoo, and MTSS Coordinator, Kassandra Paxton.

OUR SCHOOL COUNSELING PROGRAM:

  • We are uniquely trained in child development, learning strategies, self-management, and social skills.
  • We provide education, prevention, and intervention integrated into all aspects of children's lives.
  • We are an integral component of the school's academic mission.
  • We recognize and respond to student mental health needs and assist students and families in seeking resources.
  • Driven by student data and based on standards in cognitive, career, and social-emotional development.

Direct Services:

  • Individual and Group Counseling within a Trauma-Informed Practice
  • Integration of the Guidance Standard Course of Study in the school setting
  • Individual student planning and goal setting
  • Advocate for student well-being
  • Responsive services
  • Mediate conflict

Indirect Services:

  • Consultation and collaboration with parents, teachers, the school community and community agencies and resources
    Referrals for assistance

Our School Psychology program:

  • School psychologists are uniquely qualified members of school teams that support students' ability to learn and teachers' ability to teach.
  • They apply expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior, to help children and youth succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally.
  • School psychologists partner with families, teachers, school administrators, and other professionals to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments that strengthen connections between home, school, and the community.

School Psychologists:

  • Provide direct support and interventions to students, consult with teachers, families, and other school-employed mental health professionals (i.e., school counselors, school social workers) to improve support strategies, work with school administrators to improve school-wide practices and policies, and collaborate with community providers to coordinate needed services.
  • They help schools successfully Improve Academic AchievementPromote Positive Behavior & Mental HealthSupport Diverse LearnersCreate Safe, Positive School ClimatesStrengthen Family-School Partnerships, and Improve School-Wide Assessment & Accountability.
  • School Psychologists can provide individual & group counseling, are heavily involved with MTSS (Multi-tiered System of Supports) Leadership & interventions, and collaborate with staff to find and evaluate students with disabilities that may require special education services.

School Social Workers:

  • Are trained and qualified to analyze barriers to learning and achievement
  • Promote the academic mission of schools by fostering educational environments that are safe and have supportive, fair, and responsive policies
